I remember Prof Laing faintly from my time in the Faculty of Science as our class spent only a couple of terms and then moved on to our medical courses. Later when i joined the Noguchi Memorial Institute and taught at the School of Public Health, I had a more regular interaction with him as he was also teaching at the school. His calm analysis of every situation was infectious. He was a mentor to us the junior faculty and I will definitely miss his calm attitude and pieces of advice. Prof REST IN PEACE.
