You were always a warm presence at the department of Botany. We once had a lecture that went on into the early hours of the night during which the lights went off. I remember you calmly continuing to deliver your lesson! To me you were more than a Prof, you were the ideal human being,Intelligent and yet so modest.A proper gentleman you were.
