FOR PROFESSOR EBENEZER LAING: I THANK GOD THAT I MET YOU.

Hen Wura Professor, I can only take this opportunity to thank you and Kofi Sey for
everything.

For making me feel welcome at Legon as an undergraduate, and letting me know I also belonged to that campus, never mind that I was then, and as now, a woman.

Of course, it was a different time. It was the 60s. Ghana was newly independent, and optimism and goodwill were in the air. But then, people like you don’t need special times to be who you are.

Hen Wura, thank you.

For helping me to see that a university campus in Ghana and Africa can be a nurturing space for a young mind, whether male or female.

That sometimes university lecturers and professors are ordinary, brilliant, but relaxed human beings, who make the challenge of study hugely interesting for themselves, and all those who cross their paths.

That while life is full of lessons, it is also to be enjoyed, and anything and anybody can be approached with a smile and a twinkle in the eye.

Yoosi, ihu Kofi Sey aa, mikyia n’. Meda hom ase pii. Oman Ghana mboframa aa ekyere hon adze da w’ase. Hen nyinara yeda w,ase ae, Ahenewa.
